Web Series Episode 03: Destination: Mount Desert Island, Maine

Square

My Instagram feed during the COVID summer of 2020 was flooded with images and videos from the state of Maine, where apparently everyone and their mother was spending a vacation. As a state with low numbers of COVID cases, Maine became a haven for roadtrippers of the American northeast, who came to enjoy its mountains, rocky coastlines, and above all, its abundance of lobster dishes.

In this first destination-focused web episode, my friends Francis Arel, Mark Laqui, Aislinn Monogan and I based ourselves at Bass Harbor Campground in the southwestern part of Mount Desert Island. We set up camp for movie nights around the campfire (that’s City Slickers playing in the video), which served as our base to explore the island on bike and foot, cycling and hiking in and around Acadia National Park. Not surprisingly, we ate a lot of lobster.
